Landscape HORTICULTURALIST

Is a full time seasonal (with full-time potential) specialized managerial position reporting to Owner.

This is a specialized landscape labourer position requiring meticulous care and concern for the completion of landscape construction jobs. The successful candidate will possess a critical eye for detail and have skill in horticultural practices. This position’s primary function is to work, with the Site Supervisor, to support the effective installation of plant material.  Focus will be on plant health requirements, irrigation requirements, design implementation and execution. Additional job duties include supporting plant inventory management and office plant material.  Should possess a strong plant knowledge, possess pruning and fertility practices, pest management and drip irrigation knowledge.  Will also be called on at times to help with general landscaping duties. 

This position must be capable of working in a team environment supporting all crews with proper horticultural understanding and execution of Canadian Landscape Standards. This position may be required to supervise smaller crews. As a management position they are expected to provide outstanding customer service, representing Canadian Rockies Landscape in a professional manner. Training and skill development is an ongoing process, tailored to individual employee assets, abilities, and interests.

Wage: To Be Determined based on expertise

Monday – Friday – 8hrs/day. Or 4-10hr day averaging per week.  Overtime available

Responsibility for managing small crews up to 2 employees

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Understanding of Canadian Landscape Construction Standards
  • First Aid certificate (on-job certification available)
  • IIABC -certificate irrigation technician level 1. (on-job certification available)
  • Previous irrigation knowledge required
  • Willingness to embrace technologies and advancements in operations
  • Horticulture knowledge and familiarity with garden designs
  • Advanced plant knowledge including identification, handling, and accepted planting practices
  • Comfortable working on their own and as part of a team.

ASSETS:

Previous equipment operations experience.

Previous landscape construction experience
